5G usage likely to grow 8-fold by 2022 globally

Tremendous growth in Data usage

With growing data us-
age among Indian
consumers, the to-
tal mobile data traf-
fic is expected to
grow at a CAGR of
around 40 per cent, from 1
exabyte (EB) of data con-
sumption by the end of
2016 to almost almost 8EB per month by 2022.

Ericsson Mobility Report June 2017

Data usage levels are expect-
ed to increase from the cur-
rent 4GB per smartphone
per month to about 11 GB per
smartphone per month in
2022, complemented by the
fast-pace expansion of
the smartphone industry in
India.

Transition from 4G to 5G

In order to satisfy the demand for data traffic, more
efficient methods need to be
introduced to counter this
demand. Therefore, 5G will
be an important part in the
coming years to support the
increase in traffic in regular
mobile broadband.
“5G is a system that in-
cludes radio access, cloud,
core and management sys-
tems: it inter-works with LTE
and uses network slicing
technologies,” said Nitin
Bansal, Country Manager,
Ericsson India, while ad-
dressing a press conference.

 Like the transitions to 2G
and 3G, the move to 5G will
add a new element — the in-
dustrial Internet. And, like
the transition to 4G, it will be
much higher performance
than the previous generation.
5G will also enable organisa-
tions to move into new mar-
kets and build new revenue
streams with radically new
business models and use cas-
es, including IoT applications.
The new capabilities of 5G
will span several dimen-
sions, including tremendous
flexibility, lower energy
needs, greater capacity, band-
width, security, reliability as
well as lower latency and de-
vice costs.
5G introduction is gener-
ally planned on spectrum
bands which are currently
not deployed in networks.
This implies that higher fre-
quencies will have to be used
that inherently provide less-
er coverage. While this would
provide much higher capaci-
ty as large chunks of unused
spectrum is available, opera-
tors would probably need to
combine these high frequen-
cies with 5G channels on
lower bands, that we call ‘5G
anchor bands’.

Collabration of IITs as 5G partners with Ericcson

By combining the higher
and lower bands using carri-
er aggregation functionality
in 5G, operators will be able
to offer the 5G coverage and
capacity to customers.
Collaborations form an
important part of 5G deploy-
ments, particularly with
players from the telecom sec-
tor and academia. To this
regards, Ericsson has
teamed up with IIT Delhi for
seamless deployment, apart
from a range of other global
partnerships.

“Partnerships will be a
key for the success of 5G.
Ericsson has signed 5G col-
laboration agreements with
30+ operators, 20 industry
partners and 45 universities
and institutes around the
world including IIT Delhi,”
said Christian Hedelin,
Head of Strategy-Business
Area Networks at Ericsson.
Initial 5G deployments
are likely to be non-stan-
dalone configurations in
mid-bands together with
mmWave frequencies 24-43.5
GHz. A combination of 4G
and 5G bands is expected as
traffic increases and new
use cases mature.

Dussehra - symbol of triumph of Good over Evil

Dussehra

Dussehra, also celebrated as 'Dashahara', 'Vijay Dashmi', and 'Durgotsava Navratri' is one of the greatest Hindu festival and is celebrated on the tenth day of Shukla Paksh in the month of Ashwin (a date according to Hindu Calendar) in a variety of ways in India and also in its neighbouring countries in which Hinduism is followed.
Dussehra is the combination of the words 'Dasa' and 'Hara', which means removing ten heads. The name owes itself to the beheading of the ten-headed Ravana by Lord Rama.

Rama - Vishnu Avatara
8

Rama was 7th avatar of Lord Vishnu, who was born in a Royal kshatriya family as son of Kosala's king Dasaratha and queen Kaushalya. Birth place of Rama i.e. Ayodhya is considered as one of the most sacred place in India. He took avatara to free the Earth from the sins of evil Ravana.

Rama is also seen as the most ideal personality in Indian history. He taught the whole human race that what an ideal son, an ideal brother, an ideal husband and an ideal pupil should be.
He was a great administrator while being the king of Kosala.
Lord Rama and Mata Sita

Rama was married to Sita, who was daughter of King Janak and princess of kingdom of Mithila.

Victory over Evil Ravana and his army

Rama with his army moved towards Lanka which was the kingdom of Ravana to rescue his wife Sita. Sita was abducted by Ravana earlier. Rama along with his massive army crossed the sea at southern most part of Bharat(India) and reached Lanka. They crossed the huge sea through the 'Ramsetu'. 'Ramsetu' is the bridge constructed by the Rama's army to cross the sea. And that bridge, the 'Ramasetu' still exist there between India and the Lanka(now known as Sri Lanka).
Ramasetu

Many a times Rama asked Ravana to peacefully release Sita, to avoid the blood stain of war and death. He sent his various messengers to Ravana to avoid war. But the arrogant Lanka king refused Rama's proposal of avoiding war, and declared war against the most powerful man on the Earth, the Rama.

In the incredible war, several warriors presented their immense war skills, fought with bravery and became an immortal part of the unforgettable war between the Rigteousness and the Evil.

Finally, on 10th day of Shukla Paksh in the month of Ashwin, after a long battle between Rama and Ravana,  Rama
beheaded the ten-headed Demon king Ravana with his arrow. By this he rescued his wife Sita and also freed Lanka and the Earth from the demon Ravana.

With this, that day is remarked as the triumph of Good and Righteousness over Evil. And then every year, on this day Dussehra is celebrated all over the country with great enthusiam.

Many stage plays presenting the happening of various events of Rama's life are
arranged before a few days of Dussehra all over the country. On the day of Dussehra , Statues of Ravana, Kumbhakarana (
Ravana's brother) and Meghnatha( Ravana's son) are made and then are burnt to mark the end of Evil.

Another significance of the day

Also on this day, Goddess Durga emerged vicotorious by killing Mahishasura and his demons. Goddess Durga derived gigantic powers from many of the Gods to kill
Mahishasura (demon),which she did on the tenth day of shukla paksha of Ashwin month.

On this auspicious day we wish, may evil in all its form leave this world and this world become a loving and peaceful place to live in.
Also we shall kill the evil which lies within ourselves to become the better us for our loved ones, for our society and for the whole world.
Wishing all a very happy Dussehra.

Some more facts are waiting for you, which you will come to know 20 days later in next part of this.......

Idea Cellular moved to HC against TRAI's new IUC

Charges reduced by 57% to 6 paise per minute

Aditya Birla Group’s Idea Cellular moved the Bombay High Court on Thursday against the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (Trai’s) move to reduce the inter-connect usage charge from 14 paise a minute to 6 paise a minute.

According to Idea, the Trai move would help only one operator (Reliance Jio) while hurting the financials of all the incumbent companies. A similar move by Bharti Airtel is also expected.

Just before the Trai's move, Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla group, had written two letters to the Trai providing details on how reducing the IUC will not reduce tariff and, on the contrary, put the entire financials of the telecom industry at risk. These letters were ignored by the regulator. Last week it went ahead with reducing the rate from 14 paise a unit to just 6 paise as against a cost of 35 paise a unit.

What is 'Termination Charge" ?

Termination Charge is paid to the operator on whose network call is terminated and it is paid by the operator by whose network call is originated.
About 92% of the calls are now originated from Jio and terminates on other networks.
Consequently, lowering termination charge will benefit Jio the most.

Idea's argument

Idea said the move brazenly ignored the high prices paid for spectrum, a key raw material without which mobile telephony services cannot be delivered, and will negatively impact the already stressed financial health of the sector.

Idea had earlier said as of now more than 900 million consumers in India rely on established 2G/3G/4G (non-VoLTE) networks for accessing voice services. A majority of these users are located in the rural heartland and are dependent on enormous mobile telecom infrastructure investments to stay connected.

International Rates regarding 'Termination Charge'

European average settlement rate of 1.27 euro cents per minute (approximately 98 paise per minute), more than 16 times higher than the prescribed IUC rate of 6 paise per minute in India,” said the statement.

Google spotted oppurtunity of Cloud in India

First Cloud Region in Mumbai

To compete in and dominate the world of Cloud Computing, Google yesterday said it would open its first 'Cloud Region' in India by the end of this year.
Google-the Silicon Valley Giant which is competing with other big players of the market (Amazon and Microsoft), said that it would open the first 'Cloud Region' in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It would definitely help it to provide computing technologies to other tech companies.

Emerging fast growing market

“India continues to be a fast-
growing large market for us,”
said Mohit Pande, country
manager-India, Google Cloud.
“We have Cloud re-
gions across the world, this
is our first region that would
come up in India,” said Mr.
Pande at the Google Cloud
Summit held in Bengaluru.

“We are making these in-
vestments based on the feed-
back we received from the
customers who asked us to
establish a Cloud Region
here in India,” said Ash Wil-
lis, head of partners and alli-
ances for Japan and Asia-Pa-
cific, Google Cloud.

Google also said that several Indian enterprises had chosen Google Cloud as their technology platform.
Some of the enterprises on the list are Ashok Leyland, Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation and courier services company DTDC.
Also the home grown Indian messaging platform - Hike, runs its entire messaging application and network, as
well as all front-end traffic,
on Google Cloud. Hike users
share more than a billion
messages each day and 40 billion messages a month.

Mission - Internet for every Indian

“Our mission is very
simple, Internet for every In-
dian,” said Google’s vice-
president for South-East Asia
and India Rajan Anandan,
during the keynote address
at the Google Cloud Summit.
“Whether it is a small sari
shop owner in Chandni
Chowk or a web developer
working from home, access
to the Internet is the founda-
tion,” he said.

lunar settlement possible by 2030

Project driven by European Space Agency

To those who mock such
projects as science fiction,
Bernard Foing, Ambassador
of the European Space
Agency-driven “Moon Vil-
lage” scheme, says: The goal
is not only reasonable but
feasible too.

By 2030, there could be
an initial lunar settlement of
six to 10 pioneers — scient-
ists, technicians and engin-
eers — which could grow to
100 by 2040, he predicted.
“In 2050, you could have
a thousand and then... natur-
ally you could envisage to
have family joining crews
there,” Mr. Foing said.

Births on Moon

Mere decades from now,
there may be a possibility to
have children born on the
moon, he enthused.
ESA boss Jan Woerner has
mooted replacing the orbit-
ing International Space Sta-
tion (ISS) with a permanent
lunar colony, a futuristic
idea that was high on the
agenda at this week’s expert
meeting in the Latvian cap-
ital.

Enriched Resources

Experts argue that the future
lies in collaboration between
increasingly cash-strapped
national space agencies and
the private sector, which can
profit from selling resources
such as moon-derived rocket
fuel.
Robotic exploration is
already under way, with sev-
eral moon landers and
rovers planned for the com-
ing years.
“The goal is to join inter-
national efforts and to bridge
earthly borders and crises,”
Mr. Woerner said.

Google to pay $1.1 billion for HTC’s Pixel division

Acquisition is part of the firm’s broader push into hardware

Alphabet Inc.’s Google said it
would pay $1.1 billion for the
division at Taiwan’s HTC
Corp. that develops the U.S.
firm’s Pixel smartphones
its second major foray into
phone hardware after an
earlier costly failure.

The all-cash deal will see
Google gain 2,000 HTC em-
ployees, roughly equivalent
to one fifth of the Taiwanese
firm’s total workforce. It will
also acquire a non-exclusive
licence for HTC’s intellectual
property and the two firms
agreed to look at other areas
of collaboration in future.

'Hardware push'

The move is part of a
broader and still nascent
push into hardware that saw
Google hire Rick Osterloh, a
former Motorola executive,
to run its hardware division
last year. It also comes ahead
of new product launches on
October 4 that are expected
to include two Pixel phones
and a Chromebook.

ONGC discovers oil in Arabian sea

Find estimated at 20 million tonnes

State-owned Oil and Nat-
ural Gas Corp. (ONGC) has
made a significant oil dis-
covery to the west of its
prime Mumbai High fields
in the Arabian sea, a
senior official said on
Wednesday.

The discovery in the
well WO-24-3 is estimated
to hold an in-place reserve
of about 20 million
tonnes, he said. Mumbai
High, India’s biggest oil
field, currently produces
205,000 barrels of oil per
day (just over 10 million
tonnes per annum) and
the new find would add to
that production in less
than two years time.

Further Assessment

“This is a mid-sized dis-
covery but a significant
one,” the official said.

The new find, which
comes almost 50 years
after ONGC began produc-
tion in Mumbai High, will
help the company main-
tain production levels
from the basin for a longer
time than currently
estimated.

NCLAT allows waiver plea of Cyrus Mistry firms

Cyrus Mistry (Ex-Chairman of TATA Sons)
The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) today rejected the pleas filed by Cyrus Mistry's firmsagainst the Tata Sons on grounds of maintainability.

Mistry's firms had filed pleas on grounds of alleged mismanagement, oppression of minority shareholders and on whether their pleas are maintainable.

However, NCLAThas allowed waiver to Cyrus Mistry, while also directing the case to be decided by the NCLT in three months.

The Companies Act mandates that a petitioner should hold at least one-tenth of the issued share capital of a company or represent 10 percent of the total number of members to file cases alleging mismanagement and oppression of minority shareholders.

Following NCLT's verdict, Mistry's two investment firms - Cyrus Investments Private Limited and Sterling Investments Private Limited - had moved the NCLAT over maintainability of their petitions filed against the Tata group and waiver required for it under the Company Act 2013.

Mistry was ousted as Tata Sons chairman on October 24, 2016 and was also removed subsequently as director on the board of the holding company on February 6, 2017.
